MORGAN CUP RACE | RORC

🗓️ 27th - 29th June 2025

💷 £465

📍 COWES - GUERNSEY

The Morgan Cup Race is an offshore yacht race organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). In a break from its recent run of Dartmouth finishes, the Morgan Cup will once again, after eight years, be bound for Guernsey in the Channel Islands this season.

It is one of the qualifying races for the Rolex Fastnet Race although this year we’re just doing this for fun and to give an offshore racing opportunity to our non Fastnet crews.

Fun fact: The race is named after Sir John Edward Redmond Morgan, who was a member of the RORC and a successful sailor in his own right.

Good to know

  • In case there are boat chores required ahead of the race, you might be asked for a little support by your skipper. It would be great if you could help out if necessary.

  • As a long-distance race, be aware that you will be operating a watch system. This normally means that a crew is split up and alternates being on / off watch. Often it's 4hr shifts with shorter shifts from 16.00-18.00 and 18.00-20.00 to ensure that you are not always on watch at the same time of day/night.
